Peer Review Process

The review process, applied by the Finance, Accounting and Business Analysis journal is aimed at enabling authors to improve their manuscript and helping Editors in making their decision.

All submitted articles go through an initial screening. The purpose of this stage of the reviewing process is to ensure that the manuscript adheres to the journal’s publishing criteria, set in the Instructions to authors, and falls within the scope of the journal. During this stage the originality of the manuscript is also evaluated by comparing its level of similarity with other works including the author(s) previous works. The initial review stage concludes with the manuscript’s rejection or acceptance for peer reviewing.

At least two reviewers, who possess expert knowledge in the manuscript’s field of research, are assigned to manuscripts that successfully pass the initial stage. It is expected that reviewers, providing useful comments and recommendations, would contribute to the improvement of the submitted manuscripts. As the review process is double-blind, all necessary actions are taken to grant that both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous. The reviewers could recommend the acceptance of the manuscript as it is submitted or after minor or major revision, as well as the rejection of the manuscript. If the two reviewers’ opinions differ fundamentally, the Editors may refer to a third reviewer to make the appropriate decision. On the basis of the reviewer’s comments and suggestions, author(s) are expected to make corrections to the manuscript and to submit an updated version.

The third and final stage of the review process includes the Editors’ consideration of the submitted manuscript, its revised version and all reviews. The final decision could be to accept the paper as it is submitted or to reject it on the basis of the reviewers suggestions. In cases where the revised manuscript requires further corrections, the Editors may require authors to make corrections a second time. It is also possible that the Editors require the revised manuscript to be sent again to the reviewers before accepting it for publishing.

The decision to publish the articles that successfully passed the reviewing process is made by the Editors in Chief, considering the sequence of acceptance, as well as the geographical distribution of authors.

The authors can track the publication process following the status of their manuscript on the online submission platform.
